Tidy Up

I wont say it has been a slow week, that is getting a little old now!!
I started off the week by giving the website a little polish. I had set it all up ages ago, but have neglected it a little
I set up the ‘studio’ so that I could update the photos. If you had looked last week, you would have seen the previous iteration rather than the current one
I had bold plans to make one of those fancy product videos with all the swooping and zooming. What I actually ended up with was some very shaky videos with things out of focus, and it all looked terrible 🤣
I did manage to get a nice little rainbow light slow on the go, and I really like it, but this is the peak of my work!!

I have updated the photos to be the latest version, but they look really clinical and dull!! If anyone is a pro product photographer and wants to lend a hand, please feel free to get in touch!
I have also gone through the specs and software plan pages to make sure they are up to date. I still need to refresh the add-on cards page, but its easier to do these things in stages
Speaking of add-on cards, I have given the Mesh card a bit more of a tweak, and I think it is nearly there!!

This probably makes no sense to anyone but me!! It is a relatively simple board really, not many connections on there, but somehow, it is terrible!!

Most of these are just issues with the way the board limits are set on KiCad, so it thinks things are bad.
Im not overly happy with the layout, the antenna connection passes all the data and power traces, and I am sure that isnt great for signal quality. I think I will need to investigate 4 layer PCB’s so that I can build shielding around the signal traces, but that is going to be a bit of a leaning curve, and 0.8mm boards with 4 layers sounds expensive!!
I think this will be good enough as a proof of concept, and I can circle back in the future with some expert help when the time comes
With the signal passing through the main PCB too, that might also need to be a 4 layer board, something to think about!
In other news, Nilseuropa has been playing with his CL-32 and it looks like he has been having some fun

The breakout card was one of the first ones I made, it looks to be super handy for making your own stuff!! SolarOS lets you dynamically create a new SPI bus at runtime, and then you can link that to the screen driver, and you get this!!
SolarOS also has the ability to run Apple II emulation, so you can do crazy stuff like this

As a side note, Nils takes way better photos than me 🤣
I had better get back to fixing stuff, catch you next week..
